Shesa's OCTOBER 2026 Investment Blog

By Shesa Nayak Welcome to Shesa’s investment Blog!   U.S. Stock Market Update September was another mixed but still constructive month for the U.S. stock market, with volatility remaining elevated. Despite September historically being the weakest month for stocks, the Nasdaq-100 gained 3.23%, marking its third consecutive year of gains for the month of September. Other major indexes were down for the month. However, all major indexes remained higher year-to-date, supported largely by continued strength in technology and AI-related stocks. At the same time, Treasury yields remained elevated, adding pressure to valuations and keeping investors cautious. The 10-year yield briefly touched 5.33%, a level last seen in April 2002. Shesa's Weekend Updates - 8|27|26

Welcome to my weekend Updates U.S. stocks finished the week higher overall — the first winning week in the last 3 weeks driven by technology and AI strength. Nasdaq remained near recent highs after setting records earlier in the week. The  oil prices fluctuated due to Middle East tensions, with global oil (Brent) closing around $104 and U.S. oil near $92 per barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. bond prices fell as inflation concerns and expectations of further Fed rate hikes pushed Treasury yields higher. The 10-year Treasury yield closed at 5.17% , highest level since July 2007 , nearly 19 years ago .  The 30-year yield at 5.49% on Friday, September 25.  Sentiment stayed selective outside of tech. Shesa's Stock Market Weekend Updates - 10|11|26

Welcome to my Weekend's Updates Key Takeaway U.S. stocks finished the week higher, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq recovering from midweek pressure. Technology and AI-related stocks sold off sharply on Thursday amid concerns about OpenAI’s revenue outlook but rebounded Friday. Investors are entering a busy week with major bank earnings and important inflation reports. The 10-year Treasury yield reached approximately 5.36%, its highest level since 2002, before easing to around 5.24% by Friday. Uncertainty surrounding Iran, oil prices and elevated Treasury yields could create further market volatility.  Technology stocks helped support the market’s recovery, but risks remain. Elevated Treasury yields, oil-price volatility and inflation concerns could create further market swings.
