My Portfolio Adjustment under Current Market situation
I have taken a few action on my portfolio under current volatile market situation.
(i) I have been trimming most of the Mutual Funds since last couple of weeks. If needed, I may sell them completely. Reason: Fund’s do not have the flexibility like Stock/ETF. Also, they are late to bounce comping to stock once market recovers.
(ii) I have parked my 401K in Money Market Fund.
Reason: This is purely a temporary measure. I will put these money back into some good funds as soon as Market starts recovering.
(iii) I am still mostly invested in Stock but keep recycling adding/trimming/selling depending on market situation. I keep re-evaluating the ways and means to get better ROI once market recovers. So, it's an ongoing process and I keep revisiting and adjusting as needed.
I avoid any panic selling and do not sit with large amount of cash on the sideline. I sell something when I feel that there is something better to buy in my judgment. Selling everything and having cash to get back at later stage sometime backfires, so I usually avoid that. I may keep making frequent adjustment depending on how stock market behaves, so things may keep changing.
I will write more on my blog in next few days.
Disclaimers: This is purely my personal opinion/action and NOT meant for others. Each investor should do whatever works better for him/her. This is NOT a recommendation to buy/sell any equity.
