A recap of 2025 The year 2025 started with a small downturn but subsequently market started picking up till February 20. After that, tariff fears emerged and on April 2, 2025, Donald Trump declared his " Liberation Day " to and announced new tariffs on imports aimed at reducing trade deficits and reviving U.S. industry. Welcome to Shesa’s investment Blog! U.S Stock Market Update As I wrote in my January blog, this year we may see a lot of volatility. And exactly that’s what we have been witnessing. The year started reasonably well but there were dips, again it picked up some steam towards the end of last month. January ended on a positive note for the indexes. However, February started on a rough note. But Dow Jones hit its all-time high and went past 50,000 mark for the first time in history and closed at 50,115.67 . However, despite the good results from big tech companies like META, Google, Apple, AMD the technology stocks got hammered. Microsoft and Amazon’s results were not very encouraging. Wall Street is very concerned about the tech spending . U.S. Stock Market Updates - 1|25|26

The stock market remained volatile last week. On Wednesday and Thursday the market was up on the news that President Trump won’t put additional tariffs on EU due to Greenland deal. But ultimately the week ended in a negative note.  US stock indexes for the week ending January 23, 2026 (holiday-shortened, 4 trading days): • S&P 500 : down 0.5% (closed ~6,915.61) • Dow Jones : down 0.6% (closed ~49,098.71) • Nasdaq : up 0.2% (closed ~23,501.24) The market had second consecutive weekly loss for major indexes amid volatility. Intel ( INTC ) declared its Q4 results better than expected beating top and bottom line but guidance was below Wall Street expectations. This stock was on fire and has come down since then. I will be careful on this stock.  EPS : 0.15 vs. 0.8 estimated Revenue : $13.7B vs. $13.4B. Guidance: company said it expected Q1 revenue between $11.7B - $12.7B, and breakeven on EPS which were below Street expectations. My view:  The stock ran too much too ...
