Q1FY20 Earnings Update and my View

Dear readers,

As promised to my WhatsApp group, here are the earnings and my view of some stocks in my Blog Portfolio.

Facebook (FB)
Earnings (EPS): $1.71
Revenue: $17.74 billion
Daily active users: 1.73 billion
Monthly active users: 2.6 billion
My View: This is a good long-term investment but of course some profit should be taken whenever needed. I may buy Below $180.

AAPL (2nd Quarter)
EPS: $2.55 per share vs. $2.26 expected
Revenue: $58.3 billion vs. $54.54 expected
iPhone revenue: $28.96 billion
Services revenue: $13.34 billion.
My View: China is reopening so also 5G phones is the new catalyst. I will HOLD for now and buy if it comes below $280.

Amazon (AMZN)
Amazon's net sales of $75.5 vs. $73.61 billion expected, up 26% over last year.
Net income of $2.5 billion, or $5.01 per share vs. $6.25 expected fell 30% compared to the $3.6 billion, or $7.09 per share, reported in the first quarter of 2019.
My View: Shares retreated and again bounced back handsomely. It's a long-term investment for decades.

Shopify (SHOP)
Revenue: $97 million vs. estimated $88.2 million, up 47% from last year.
Gross Margin: 38.8% vs. estimates for 30.73%, up 210% from last year.
Diluted EPS: 3 cents a share vs. estimates for a loss of 7 cents a share
2020 Guidance: Company pulled its full-year guidance (previously called for sales of $490 million to $510 million).
My View: My View: This is a good long-term investment but of course some profit should be taken whenever needed. I have trimmed a little bit.

Guardant Health (GH)
Revenue: Guardant Health reported $67.5 million vs. $54.8 million expected in sales and a net loss of 29 cents per share.
Sales rocketed 84.2%. Losses narrowed from 30 cents a share in the year-earlier period.
My View: This is a good long-term investment but of course some profit should be taken whenever needed. I may buy Below $80.

Square (SQ)
Revenue: in $1.38 billion in revenue, up 44% on a year-over-year basis.
Net Income: Reported a net loss of almost $8.7 million, or $0.02 per share, from the Q1 2019 net profit of $53.8 million.
My View: Sold this last week. It's trading in a range of $60-80, hence got out. I will revisit in future.
